A Court of Thorns and Roses

This series just fills you with random and embarrassing and overwhelming pride for all the characters at times. I read it too quickly to have done any Current Reads on them, but I would say I liked this series just as much, if not a little more than Throne of Glass series. I feel like I'm cheating on Celaena by saying that, but oh well. This series had everything that I wanted in a series, romance, drama, faeries, erotica, character development, plot twists, I mean, the whole nine yards. (What does that even mean?)

Anyways, this series was originally a trilogy, but she wrote a fourth, spin-off book that kinda wrapped up the trio and gave closure. The series includes the books: A Court of Thorns and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruin, and the spinoff, A Court of Frost and Starlight. The first book, I will say, felt very rushed. She really could have wrote two books with all that she crammed into the first one, but nonetheless, it was still really great. We got introduced to Fayre and Tamlin and Lucien and Rhysand (who gave Will Herondale a run for his money in my compitition of favorite fictional boyfriend list). This series was a bit more steamy than the Throne of Glass series which I was all for.

Here is my synopsis: After a human Fayre kills a wolf while hunting for her family in the woods, she is forced to enter the faerie realm accompanied by a monstrous beast. After being held captive in a large and comfortable estate, she finds that her captor is not a beast after all, but a High Fae, and she falls in love with him. (Stockholm syndrom much, am I right?) However, things are not as magically and great as they seem, while a blight threatens to destroy the faerie lands and may even seep over into the human world as well. Fayre must compete in three impossible tasks to save her lover, the faerie realm, and the human lands; all the while forming an unusual, bust strong bond with one of the enemies... (que, super intense love-triangle and overprotective, territorial fae bastard boyfriends). And...that's all I'm going to give you guys for now.
